Chocolate-Almond Coffee Frappe

Chocolate-Almond Coffee Frappe

I don't know where I got this recipe, I think I picked it up for my teens to try (I don't like cold coffee). It seems like a good alternative to the high priced drinks at our local coffee stands. When making coffee in the morning, refrigerate the leftovers to make this later in the day.

Turkish Coffee

Turkish Coffee

From Saad Fayed, Turkish coffee is famed for the way it is made. It is prepared in an ibrik, a small coffee pot that is heated. Sugar is added during the brewing process, not after, so the need for a serving spoon is eliminated. Cream or milk is never added to Turkish coffee, and sugar is optional. It is always served in demitasse cups. In some regions, your fortune is told by the placement of the coffee grinds left in the cup!

French Vanilla Frozen Coffee (Drink)

French Vanilla Frozen Coffee (Drink)

Okay, so I really like iced coffee, so one day I tried putting it in a blender and this is what I came up with. Very easy and yummy. Enjoy. Note: Prep time doesn't include brew time or chill time on coffee. I brew it for hot coffee one day and take leftovers and put in fridge for this.

Iced Coffee (Dunkin Donuts)

Iced Coffee (Dunkin Donuts)

I have tried to make iced coffee before but it never tasted like my favorite from Dunkin Donuts! I finally realized they were added as much milk as they were coffee, and extra sugar. Often, later in the day, after the coffee in the carafe is not so hot, I make these as a refreshing drink. You can also add a tablespoon or so of flavored creamer, like amaretto, hazelnut, etc. for some variety.

Traditional Bahraini Cardamom Coffee

Traditional Bahraini Cardamom Coffee

This is an authentic recipe for the traditional style of coffee that is drunk in Bahrain. The key to a great cup of coffee is the ground coffee - if you can get Gulf Coffee then do so. Gulf Coffee is light / medium roasted beans which are then ground with cardamom & saffron. If you can't get Gulf Coffee then use a coffee which is as lightly roasted as possible & add a little extra cardamom & saffron to the coffee as you make it.

Creamy Cinnamon Vanilla Coffee

Creamy Cinnamon Vanilla Coffee

An easy flavored coffee just as tasty as the expensive stuff from the coffee shop. Quantities are a little vague because I'm not sure how my favorite, huge mug scales down to smaller cups — use your sense of smell to find proportions that are flavorful, but not too candy-sticky because this is coffee to go with dessert rather than to substitute for the dessert.

Brewed Orange Cinnamon Coffee

Brewed Orange Cinnamon Coffee

I've had this recipe for at least 8 years. It has always intriqued me but I never got around to trying it. Attended a meeting where we were supposed to share homemade gift ideas and decided to take this as one of mine. I'm so glad I did!! I loved it! It smells wonderful brewing and it made a lightly spiced coffee that was just so comforting. Make sure to use the blender to mix it to help keep it from clumping in the coffee pot and not letting the water run through properly.Response to reviewer's question about using dried orange zest: I suspect it would make the coffee bitter. I have only used fresh & have never received any complaints about bitterness even from people who take theirs black.

Brulot Charentais - Angel's Flames - French Flambé Coffee

Brulot Charentais - Angel's Flames - French Flambé Coffee

Our local and very dramatic end of meal coffee - La Flamme des Anges - Angel?s Flames or Brulot Charentais certainly provides for lively end of dinner conversation! The sumptuous combination of fine quality Cognac, rich brown coffee and dramatic blue flames provides a memorable end to a special evening.Whether you be celebrating Christmas, New Year, Easter or something more personal such as a birthday, anniversary or simply a special dinner, a Brulot Charentais can brighten up the occasion and turn it into something special. History of Brulot Charentais: Brulot Charentais is 3 centuries old! In times gone by, most people used to take a hot drink or infusion, before going to bed. In the Cognac area, many opted for a wine topped off with burning alcohol, which had the effect of producing 'mulled' wine. The flames symbolised 'festivity' either during or after a meal. For special occasions - baptisms, communions, marriages, birthdays, Christmas, Easter and the like, the Charentais wine farmers, would add a slug of neat Cognac, straight from the cask, to the surface. This Cognac, strong in alcohol, was set alight, reducing its strength and producing striking blue flames. Thus Brulot Charentais was born. The sugar in the saucer would soak up any 'stray drops' of Cognac which also combusted, and blended together, formed a liqueur rich in Cognac flavours. The coffee?s taste was transformed by combining with the sugar and Cognac. The coffee reaches drinking temperature due to the combustion. The recipe preserves the aroma and flavour of the Cognac, whilst reducing the strength (down to about 2 - 3 percent). Make your 'soirées' more festive with a cup of flaming Brulot Charentais! The recipe ingredients are for one person - please increase the quantities as necessary. Why not end your celebration the Charentais way?
