My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose: Rose Petal Jam - Conserve

A wonderful old English Medieval recipe for rose petal jam or rather rose petal conserve, as this is a soft set jam. Serve this elegant and fragrant jam with scones, pancakes or use it to sandwich sponge cakes together........smells heavenly and tastes magical. Make sure that the rose petals you use are not exposed to traffic pollution or have been sprayed with fertiliser. The title is taken from my namesake, the Scottish poet Robert Burns and his poem: O, my luve's like a red, red rose,That's newly sprung in June,O, my luve's like the melodie,That's sweetly play'd in tune.Rose petal jam is also found in the Middle East and Turkey, along with high quality rose water; I sometimes add a few drops of rosewater for an extra floral kick! I have stated red rose petals as they give the best colour - but any highly scented roses would be fine to use in this recipe. - Similiar recipes

Rosé-Water Candied Peanuts

Ruggiero was served rose-scented candied peanuts and mint tea on the rooftop of the home of a Toubkal local. It turned out to be one of the best-tasting snacks she'd ever had.\n - Similiar recipes

Rose-Kissed Peaches

This is an experience: juicy peaches tangled in the taste of the most fragrant English rose garden... these peaches are incredible with ice cream, pound cake, scones, alone or in a gourmet fruit salad. I use 6 cups of pink rose (Zephirine Drouhin) petals and 2 cups of red (Tradescant) to achieve a sublime color. It is important to use rose petals that are free of pesticides and very clean. - Similiar recipes

Rose Water Facial Mist

Use this anytime you need to rehydrate your skin. In the summertime I keep a bottle of this mist chilled in the refrigerator. Much less expensive than the HomeHealth brand I've been buying at the natural food stores all these years. Rose water can be found in Middle Eastern/Indian markets, specialty/gourmet/natural food stores and online (the brand I use is Cortas). It is not expensive and a little goes a long way. - Similiar recipes

Rose Ice Cream Recipe

I had rose ice cream in an Indian rest. years before and always remembered it, so this was the first thing I wanted to make in my new machine. Summer is the best time to make this so you can use fresh rose petals on top, for an elegant presentation, provided of course that you don't use chemicals on your roses. - Similiar recipes

Rose Heart Bead Favor Recipe

I made these for favors at a bridal shower, one bead on a red string for each lady. The bride wore her heart bead bracelet at her wedding, which helped bring scent to the ceremony, since all her floral arrangements were done in silk flowers, and since the rose bead exudes its gorgeous scent when it is in contact with a human. - Similiar recipes
